COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

Coterie Athletics — operated by Yobetech Corp., an Ontario corporation

Last Updated: October 30, 2026

These Community Guidelines (“Guidelines”) describe how Coterie Athletics (“Coterie,” “we,” “us”) expects everyone on the Platform to behave: Participants, Third-Party Hosts, and Facility Owners alike. They form part of our Terms of Service and the Host Agreement. A Facility Owner who lists a venue for an Event is treated as the Host of that Event, so everything in these Guidelines that applies to Hosts applies to Facility Owners too.

These Guidelines are written in plain language so people actually read them. The legal terms, including definitions, liability, and Coterie’s enforcement rights, are in the Terms of Service and the Host Agreement. If these Guidelines conflict with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service apply. Breaking these Guidelines can lead to the actions described in Section 7, in addition to anything in those agreements.

1. Our Standard: Good Sport, Good Person

Coterie exists to get people playing. That only works if everyone, whatever their skill level, background, or competitiveness, feels welcome and safe showing up. The short version: play hard, play fair, and treat people with respect.

Coterie is for adults. Everyone who uses the Platform or takes part in an Event must be 18 or older.

2. For Everyone on the Platform

Be honest

• Use your real name, and an accurate photo if you choose to add one.

• Represent your skill level honestly when you register for skill-based Events. Sandbagging ruins the experience for everyone else.

• Leave honest reviews and ratings. Don’t manipulate ratings for yourself or against someone else.

Be respectful

• No harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, family status, disability, or any other ground protected by Canadian human rights law.

• No unwanted contact, following, or messaging after someone has asked you to stop.

• Disagreements happen. Arguing a line call is normal; personal attacks aren’t.

Respect people’s privacy

• Use contact details you receive through Coterie, such as a Host’s participant list, only for the Event they were shared for.

• Don’t photograph or film anyone at an Event who has declined photo and video consent, and don’t post images of them. If someone asks you to take down an image of them, do it.

Don’t misuse the Platform

• Don’t create fake accounts, impersonate someone else, or misrepresent who you are.

• Don’t list an Event as free on Coterie and then charge Participants for it outside the Platform.

Don’t spam Coteries or people

• Coteries are the groups and chats on the Platform. Hosts may post about their own Events in Coteries they run or belong to.

• Don’t post repeated, off-topic, or misleading promotions, and don’t post the same promotion across many Coteries.

• Don’t send promotional direct messages to people who haven’t agreed to receive them.

• Coterie may remove promotional posts that break these rules.

3. For Participants

• Accept the waiver for each Event before you take part. The Host will check, and you can’t play without it.

• Warm up, know your limits, and don’t play through an injury that could get worse.

• Follow the Event rules, the venue rules, and any instruction from the Host or venue staff, including a call to stop or suspend play.

• Don’t take part while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs.

• If you have symptoms of a concussion, stop playing and get checked. If the Host removes you for a suspected concussion, don’t return that day.

• Bring any equipment or protective gear listed for the Event, and keep it in good condition.

• If someone is hurt, stop play and help before worrying about the score. Tell the Host about any injury you suffer or see.

4. For Hosts and Facility Owners

Run the Event you listed

• Describe your Event accurately, show up prepared and on time, and run it as listed.

• Communicate clearly and promptly if anything changes, such as the schedule, the venue, or a cancellation. Cancel only when you have to.

• Treat all Participants fairly whatever their skill level, and apply the rules of a league, ladder, or tournament consistently.

• If you list a venue, keep the listing accurate (capacity, surface, amenities, availability) and keep the space safe and playable.

Keep it safe

• Only adults may take part. Don’t let anyone under 18 play, and ask for ID if you’re unsure.

• Check every person taking part against the Platform’s participant list and confirm they have a completed waiver before play starts. No walk-ups without registering and accepting the waiver first.

• Make sure your Event has the equipment it needs. Coterie does not provide equipment.

• Before play, check the playing area and your equipment for obvious hazards, and have a first aid kit and a way to call emergency services on hand.

• Stop or suspend play when conditions are unsafe, such as lightning, severe weather, or a serious injury. Remove anyone you suspect has a concussion for the rest of the day.

• Report any injury that needs medical attention, or any incident where police, fire, or ambulance were called, to Coterie through the Platform within 24 hours.

Respect Participants’ choices and information

• If you want to photograph or film your Event, turn on photo and video consent for it, and check who declined before play starts. People who decline can still play, and you must not feature them.

• Use Participants’ information only to run your Event, and never add them to your own marketing lists without their consent.

5. What We Don’t Allow

The following will always lead to enforcement action:

• Violence or threats of violence toward anyone;

• Harassment, hate speech, or discrimination as described in Section 2;

• Sexual harassment or unwanted sexual conduct;

• Fraud, including payment fraud, fake listings, or listing an Event as free and charging for it outside the Platform;

• Sharing another person’s personal information without their consent;

• Letting anyone under 18 take part in an Event; and

• Knowingly letting anyone take part in an Event without a completed waiver.

6. Reporting a Problem

In an emergency, call 911 first.

To report something that breaks these Guidelines, use the Report option on the person’s profile or the Event page in the Coterie app, or email [email protected]. Please include what happened, when, where, and who was involved. You can report something even if you weren’t directly involved.

We review reports involving physical safety within 24 hours, and other reports as quickly as we can. We may contact you for more information. We keep reports confidential and share them only as needed to investigate and act on them, as described in our Privacy Policy. We won’t tolerate retaliation against anyone who reports in good faith.

7. What Happens When Guidelines Are Broken

Depending on how serious it is, Coterie may take one or more of these actions:

• A warning;

• Removing content, such as a review, message, or listing;

• Removing or cancelling an Event or venue listing;

• Temporarily suspending an account;

• Permanently removing someone from the Platform; or

• Reporting the conduct to police where it may be criminal.

We decide based on how serious the conduct was, whether it has happened before, and the context. Serious conduct, including anything listed in Section 5, can lead to immediate permanent removal without a warning. If an Event is cancelled because of a Host’s conduct, Participants are refunded as described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Asking for a review. Where it is practical and safe to do so, we will tell you why we acted. If you think we got it wrong, you can ask us to review the decision by emailing [email protected], as described in Section 15 of the Terms of Service. Where possible, someone who was not involved in the original decision will do the review, and we aim to reply within 14 days.

8. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Guidelines as the Coterie community grows. We will tell you about material changes through the Platform before they take effect.
